Best snagging apps in the UK
The best snagging app depends on how you work. Site Audit Pro suits inspectors who finish reports on a laptop or work in a team, and PlanRadar suits contractors managing subcontractors. For a solo UK inspector who wants several photos per snag and the report sent from site, we’d pick SiteSnag. Below are eight apps with their prices and who each one suits.
Disclosure: SiteSnag is our app. We list its gaps alongside the others and take competitor facts from their store listings, websites and public reviews. If anything is out of date, email hello@getsitesnag.com and we’ll correct it.

1. SiteSnag
SiteSnag is built for UK snagging inspectors and residential surveyors. You take a photo, tap save and the camera is ready for the next snag. Typing a title brings up matches from 460+ UK defects, each with severity and trade, and most with an NHBC chapter, Approved Document or BS 7671 reference. Snags hold as many photos as you need and can be pinned to a floor plan you draw or import as an image. On a re-inspection each one is marked fixed, partly fixed or not fixed. Surveys are stored on the phone with no account, and the branded PDF goes out from site through the share sheet.
The first survey is free. Pro costs £4.99 a month, £49.99 a year or £149.99 once (checked October 2026). The drawbacks are that it’s a new app without a long review history, and it has no laptop editor, no team plan and no Word or Excel export. Snags can’t be dragged into a new order either, though the report can group them by area, severity, trade or status.
2. Site Audit Pro
Site Audit Pro from Veam Studios is the best-known app in the category, with 4.8 stars from about 23,000 ratings on the UK App Store. Reviewers mention fast capture, clean PDFs and support that answers by name. It covers audits, inspections and safety checks as well as snagging, and the Cloud subscription adds a web app, so it is the strongest option here if you type reports up on a laptop or work in a team.
It costs £12.90 to buy, and Cloud is £6.99 a month or £59.99 a year on top. The base app holds one photo per issue, and more photos come with Cloud. Reviewers mention paying twice and an Android app that trails the iPhone version, which rates 3.6 on Google Play. Read our Site Audit Pro comparison for the detail.
3. Snag List (Boluga)
Snag List is a simple, cheap app that ranks well on the App Store because its name is the search term. It has 4.7 stars from about 1,200 UK ratings and is translated into 13 languages, and reviewers find it quick to brand. The download is free, and PDF export needs Pro at £3.99 a month, £19.99 for six months or £29.99 a year. Boluga publishes it on Google Play as well.
It allows one photo per issue. Its last feature update was in 2022, and reviewers mention crashes on projects past about 20 snags. Our Snag List comparison goes into more depth.
4. Site Report Pro
Site Report Pro from Pipe Flow Software is the pick for anyone who dislikes subscriptions, with a one-off unlock at £14.99. Each issue can hold up to eight photos, it exports to Excel as well as PDF, and its App Store privacy label says it collects no data. It has 4.7 stars from about 1,800 UK ratings, and reviewers praise how quickly support replies.
Some basic report layouts are extra in-app purchases after the unlock. Reviewers also mention comment text disappearing after tapping done and long stalls, and one found it slower than Word for short scope-of-works notes. It is on iPhone and iPad only.
5. SnagPal
SnagPal is a free iPhone and iPad snagging app with no account and no subscription, and it works offline with data kept on the device. It ranks near the top of Google for “snagging app”, and for a homebuyer checking their own new build on an iPhone the price is hard to beat.
There is no Android version. Professional inspectors should check how it handles report branding, defect wording and re-inspections before relying on it for paid work.
6. Snagger
Snagger runs on iPhone, Android and the web. You pin defects on a floor plan with photos and produce a PDF report, and Snagger Studio lets you finish the job on a laptop. Projects can be shared, which suits a small team working across several devices.
It is free to start, and the limits of the free plan and the paid prices are on Snagger’s website. Because it is built around syncing between devices, check how it behaves with no signal if you work in new builds without coverage.
7. PlanRadar
PlanRadar is a construction platform. Snags are logged on drawings, assigned to subcontractors (who join free) and tracked through to sign-off, and it runs on phones, tablets and the web with a 30-day trial. It suits contractors and developers who manage defects across many plots.
Pricing is per user. Reviewers on software directories mention the setup time spent configuring templates and locations, rigid permissions and the cost, and for a sole inspector doing one house at a time it is more tool than the job needs.
8. SurveyorSuite
SurveyorSuite is web software for UK surveyors and snagging inspectors. It maps defects to NHBC chapters and Building Regulations, records fire door ratings and developer disputes, schedules a 12-month de-snag and drafts wording with AI. It costs £35 a month, with a launch discount offered when we checked.
It is a browser-based product, so it suits surveyors who write up at a desk more than those who want to finish on site with no signal.

SnagHQ is an iPhone and iPad snagging app with AI voice capture, aimed at inspectors and surveyors. When we checked it had a waiting list and wasn’t yet available to download.
How to choose a snagging app
- Take a real job through the free tier or trial before paying. Check the PDF your client would receive, since that is what they judge you on.
- Count the photos you take per defect. If you shoot wide, close and “after” pictures, rule out apps that hold one per issue.
- Check the Android app as closely as the iPhone one if anyone in your business uses Android.
- Decide where you write up. Laptop finishers need a web editor, and people who send from site need an app that works with no signal.
- Add up the total cost over a year, including any upfront price, subscription and paid report themes.
- Think about wording. A built-in UK defect library saves typing on every job, and our list of common new build defects shows what one looks like.

Questions
Is there a free snagging app?
SnagPal is free on iPhone and iPad, and Snagger is free to start. Snag List is free to download but needs Pro to export a PDF report. SiteSnag gives you one full survey free, including the PDF, which is enough to snag your own new build.
What is the best snagging app for Android?
SiteSnag, Snagger and Boluga’s Snag List all have Android apps, while SnagPal and Site Report Pro are Apple only. Site Audit Pro is on Android too, but rates 3.6 on Google Play against 4.8 on iOS.
Do I need a snagging app or construction software?
If you inspect one property at a time and send a report to a buyer, a phone app is quicker to learn and costs less. Platforms such as PlanRadar make sense when a site manager has to assign snags to subcontractors and track them across many plots.
Which snagging apps work offline?
SiteSnag and SnagPal keep everything on the phone, need no account and work with no signal. For the others, check the store listing before relying on them in a new build with no coverage.
