Snag List app alternative
SiteSnag is an alternative to Boluga’s Snag List app for UK snagging inspectors and surveyors. It holds as many photos per snag as you need, includes the PDF on the free survey and adds a UK defect library and floor plans, while Snag List costs less per year and comes in 13 languages. SiteSnag is our app, so read this with that in mind.

What Snag List does well
Snag List is one of the first results when you search the App Store for a snag list app, and it is simple to use. You add an issue with a photo and a note, put your logo on the report and send it, with very little to learn before your first job. It holds 4.7 stars from about 1,200 ratings on the UK App Store.
The download is free and Pro costs £3.99 a month, £19.99 for six months or £29.99 a year on iOS (checked October 2026). For someone who snags their own new build, or does one or two inspections a year, a month of Pro is one of the cheapest options in the category.
Where the two apps differ
Photos
Snag List takes one photo per issue, and reviewers have asked for more for years. A snagging inspector usually wants a wide shot to show where the defect is and a close-up to show what it is, plus an “after” picture once the repair is done. SiteSnag puts no limit on photos per snag, lets you pick up to 20 from your library in one go and lets you set their order. The report can show 1, 2, 4, 6 or 9 per snag, or all of them.
Updates
According to the App Store version history, Snag List’s last update with new features was in 2022, and later releases refreshed the listing. Reviewers mention crashes once a project passes about 20 snags (a January 2024 review) and a subscription bought on iPhone that wouldn’t unlock on iPad. SiteSnag is in active development, with releases that add features.
Wording, plans and statuses
With Snag List you write each finding yourself. SiteSnag has 460+ UK defects with a description, severity and trade, most with an NHBC chapter or Approved Document reference, and they come up as you type a title. You can draw or import a floor plan and pin each snag to it. Once Record status is turned on in Settings, each snag can also be given a status such as Fixed or Verified by hand.
The cover page
One reviewer pointed out that Snag List’s cover page prints the inspecting company and the client on the same line, so they read as one name. SiteSnag’s cover page shows the surveyor and the client separately. The report also has four styles, your accent colour, a choice of three fonts, page numbers, a summary and signatures.
Android
Boluga publishes Snag List on Google Play as well as the App Store, so both apps are open to Android users. SiteSnag has the same features on iPhone, iPad and Android, apart from the home screen widget, which is iPhone and iPad only.

What each app costs over a year
The cheaper app depends on how often you snag. Someone checking their own new build needs one report, and SiteSnag’s free survey covers that with no payment, whereas Snag List needs at least a month of Pro (£3.99) to export the PDF. An inspector working every week pays £29.99 a year for Snag List Pro or £49.99 for SiteSnag Pro, and SiteSnag also sells a one-off £149.99 licence for anyone who would sooner not renew. Both sets of prices were checked in October 2026, and the stores show the current figure before you pay.
Time on site is the other cost. With one photo per issue, a second angle means a second issue, and every finding is typed from scratch. Picking a library entry fills in the description, trade and reference, and over a whole house that saves a lot of typing.
When Snag List is still the better choice
- If price matters most and one photo per issue is enough, Snag List Pro at £29.99 a year undercuts SiteSnag Pro at £49.99.
- If you write reports in a language other than English, Snag List is translated into 13 languages and SiteSnag is in English only.
- If you have a handful of small jobs a year and the app works on your phone, there is little reason to move.
SiteSnag has no laptop editor, team plan or Word export either, so if you need any of those, a tool like Site Audit Pro Cloud is closer. Our Site Audit Pro comparison covers that in more detail.
Moving from Snag List to SiteSnag
- Finish open projects in Snag List, because SiteSnag can’t import them.
- Export and keep the PDFs you have already sent.
- Cancel the Snag List subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings once you no longer need it.
- In SiteSnag, add your logo and pick a report style and accent colour.
- Do your next job on the free survey, starting from the built-in new build snagging checklist if it helps.

Questions
Are Snag List and Snag List Pro the same app?
Both are published by Boluga. Snag List (Audit & Report) is the main App Store listing and Snag List Pro is a second listing for the same app, so check which one you bought before restoring a purchase on a new device.
Is Snag List still being updated?
The App Store history we looked at shows the last release with new features in 2022. Releases in 2024 and 2025 changed the screenshots and description. The app still downloads and runs.
Why does SiteSnag cost more per year than Snag List?
Snag List Pro is £29.99 a year and SiteSnag Pro is £49.99. SiteSnag does more per job, with several photos per snag, the UK defect library, floor plans and checklists, and Pro adds unlimited surveys and automatic backup. If you do one or two jobs a year, the free survey or a single month may be all you need.
Will SiteSnag read my Snag List projects?
SiteSnag can’t import Snag List projects. Finish what you have open in Snag List, export the PDFs and start fresh in SiteSnag.
