Privacy policy

The short version: SiteSnag has no accounts and no cloud of our own. Your surveys, photos and reports stay on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud or Google Drive. We never see them. This policy explains the small amount of information that does pass through us or our suppliers.
1. Who we are
CodeByTwo Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13489145), whose registered office is at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX (“we”, “us”) provides the SiteSnag app and website and is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us at hello@getsitesnag.com about anything in this policy.
2. Information in the app
Your surveys stay on your device
Surveys, defects, photos, annotations, floor plans, checklists, voice notes, signatures, reports, your company profile and your clients’ details are stored in the app on your device. They are not sent to us. We cannot see, access or recover them.
Because that information belongs to you and your clients, you are the controller of it, and responsible for handling it lawfully.
Permissions
The app asks for these permissions only when you use the feature that needs them. You can change them in your device settings.

Backup (Pro)
If you switch on backup, the app copies your data to your own iCloud account (on iPhone and iPad) or to a private app folder in your own Google Drive (on Android). Apple or Google stores it under their terms. On Android you sign in with Google to allow this, and the app can only reach its own backup folder, not your other files. We do not have access to your backups.
AI report writing (Pro, supported devices)
AI drafts are written by the AI model built into your device (Apple Intelligence on iPhone and iPad, or Gemini Nano on supported Android phones). Your survey is not sent to us or to any AI service to do this.
Purchases
Apple or Google takes payment and we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have Pro. It receives a random app user ID, your purchase and subscription history, and basic device information (such as operating system, app version and country) from the store. It does not receive your name, email address or survey data. We use this to give you the features you have paid for (lawful basis: performing our contract with you).
App updates
The app checks for updates through Expo, which receives your IP address and basic technical information about the device and app version so it can deliver the right update (lawful basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and secure).
What we don’t do
- No accounts, and no advertising or advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
- No selling or sharing of your information for marketing.
3. Information on the website
Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser type and pages requested) to run the website and keep it secure. The website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first.
4. Who receives information
We only share personal information with the suppliers named above, who act on our instructions:

Where information goes outside the UK, we rely on the UK government’s adequacy regulations (including the UK–US data bridge) or on the standard contractual clauses approved for UK transfers, so it stays protected. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
5. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask us to transfer it to you or someone else; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.
Email hello@getsitesnag.com and we will reply within one month. Remember that we don’t hold your survey data, so to delete it, delete it in the app (and from your iCloud or Google Drive backup).
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
6. Children
SiteSnag is a professional tool and is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.
7. Security
Your survey data is protected by your device’s own security, such as its passcode and encryption, so keep your device locked and up to date. Information sent to our suppliers is encrypted in transit.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if how we handle information changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will tell you in the app about important changes.
